Elena Wojcik's Story

My story is short with words, but weighs heavy daily. 35 years of unanswered questions. I've came to my own conclusion, made up my own scenarios. Mother was young. Father was military. Although not physically present, with every thing in me believes they're still with me. Dead or alive, right or wrong, I forgive them.

Gypsy Russian ancestry. Pskov, Russia 1990. Orphanage full of boys. Only one other little girl. I was 3 at the time, quite reserved, hated baths, and always asking for a second plate. These facts are all I have to go on. Word of mouth honestly, how would anyone even know my name or birthdate if I was left on the steps of the orphanage.

Single educated white woman from the United States. Michigan, the place I've called home since. I know I have siblings and family members out there somewhere. I can feel it. I dream it. No way I'm alone. I'm too awesome for there not to be more of me. I forgive them, I forgive myself, and thankful cause, who knows right?

It's my time now, to pull everyone back together. This is me, here I am. We haven't seen each other in years, but know I love our family to life. The good, the bad, the unhinged, I accept it all.

Any tips, guidance, ANYTHING point me in the right direction. May 14, 2026 officially starts my journey for self discovery. Thank you IM ADOPTED for listening, and others who are brave to share their stories.
