About the Book
Mamy Blues: An Adoption, a Search, a Reunion is a powerful hybrid memoir–essay that explores the lifelong impact of adoption through the voice of an adoptee raised in Québec’s closed adoption system. The author recounts her personal journey and her decades-long search for her biological mother in a context shaped by secrecy, restrictive legislation, and institutional silence. She reflects on growing up without access to one’s origins and the persistent questions of identity, belonging, and loss that accompany that absence.
