It has been said that for a child given up for adoption, their first life experience is trauma. The trauma of being separated from the life force that provided them existence, nourishment, safety, and comfort. Being adopted into a loving healthy family would do wonders to heal this trauma, but what if that wasn’t the reality? What if one was adopted into dysfunction, addiction, narcissism, neglect, and abuse? What happens to the trauma then? And what if decades later with the advances in technology through DNA, one is able to identify who both of their birth parents are, and all that entails?
